Douglas Tong Hsu is Chairman and CEO of Far Eastern Group (FEG), one of the largest and most diversified conglomerates based in Taiwan. It is comprised of 245 plus companies extending into China with operations in countries including Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. FEG has a workforce of 58,497 in 2014 and has total assets of US$77.2 billion and annual revenues of US$21.6billion. The Group has nine public companies, which are leaders in their respective fields including Petrochemicals & Energy; Textile & Polyester Fiber; Cement/Building Material; Sea/Land Transportation; Financial Services; Construction; Telecommunications; Retail/Department Stores and Hotels. He is a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2013, Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership Award (APELA) in 2013, Asia’s Best CEO by Corporate Governance Asia in 2012, and 2012 Chinese Business Leaders Award.
Mr. Hsu graduated from the University of Notre Dame, IN (BA, MA) with post-graduate studies in economics at Columbia University, NY in the US. Since 2002 he holds an honorary doctorate of management from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan.
