Steven Pan is the Chairman of FIH Regent Group and Formosa International Hotels Corporation (FIH) based in Taiwan. Steven joined FIH in 1991 and became President in 1992. In 2000, he led a management buyout of the controlling stake in FIH and subsequently became Chairman. Since then, it has become the leading hotel company in Taiwan, with market capitalization hotel in excess of 30 billion.
The group’s flagship - the Regent Taipei - has consistently been ranked the leading hotel in the region and one of the top 20 hotels in Asia. In 2010, FIH acquired the Regent luxury hotel business including Regent brand and hotel management contracts worldwide, thus forming FIH Regent Group. Steven also serves as Executive Chairman of Regent Hotels & Resorts.
Steven also founded Pacific Resources Group in San Francisco in 1994, by acquiring the Chevron headquarter building. The Group completed many landmark transactions in San Francisco, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The 2004 sale of Pacific Place in San Francisco was the city’s largest real estate transaction and awarded the real estate deal of the year. The Group is active in California and Asia and Steven continues to serve as President.
Prior to joining FIH Steven was an Associate of First Boston since obtaining his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1988. He received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1986.
